Remote Mac setup guide
How to control your Mac by phone
DialDo connects a personal phone number to an app running on your Mac. You call, describe an approved task, and the Mac carries out supported steps. Here is what you actually need to set it up—and where the limits are.
1. Check your Mac and install the app
The current download supports Apple Silicon Macs (M-series) running macOS 12 or later. Install DialDo, open it, and follow the setup walkthrough. Your Mac must remain awake, signed in, online, and running the app to receive work. Some visual controls also require an unlocked desktop.
2. Sign in, subscribe, and claim your number
Sign in with Google in the Mac app. DialDo Personal costs $9.99 per month with no free trial; an active subscription is required before claiming a dedicated number. During setup, choose your allowed calling number and a PIN. Treat the PIN like a password and do not share it.
3. Review macOS permissions
macOS asks before an app can control other applications or read protected areas. Grant only the permissions you want DialDo to use, such as Accessibility, Automation, Screen Recording, and access to the folders needed for your tasks. You can revisit permissions in System Settings. Without them, some tasks will stop safely rather than pretending to finish.
4. Call and describe the outcome
For example: “Find the newest PDF in Downloads, make a short summary on my Desktop, and text me when it's done.” Give the intended result, not every mouse click. Your call is routed through managed providers for telephony, transcription, and AI planning; the computer action itself runs on your Mac.
Speech recognition can mishear names, files, and numbers. Apps and websites also change. A task may need clarification or fail even if the plan sounded right, so verify important results and do not rely on DialDo for emergencies or irreversible actions without review.
What if the Mac is locked or offline?
DialDo cannot wake an offline or sleeping Mac, and UI automation may not work at a locked screen. It can only use the integrations, permissions, and tools configured for that computer. Remote access does not mean unrestricted or guaranteed control over every app.
Computer actions run locally, but calls, transcripts, AI planning, billing, and notifications use managed services. Read the website privacy notice and app privacy notice before connecting sensitive accounts.
Try your first small task
Start with a simple file lookup or PDF summary, confirm the result, and then build up to longer workflows.
